My mum is ridiculously over-protective of me, and I can't do anything without her giving me a safety lecture. She makes me feel as if she thinks i would trust someone who had written "free candy" down the side of a van. I'm smarter than she gives me credit for, i don't give any personal information out, in fact, i tend to make stuff up, like giving fake names. She doesn't seem to get that I'm not 6 years old anymore. I dont have any friends around where I live, and that's why I'm on forums. Noone can just cut themselves away from human interaction, noone can just sit around and draw for weeks on end, without talking to anyone. Noone is like that, least of all me. I just sometimes feel really alone in the world. I am not the sort who gets a problem, and at once asks for help, I always wait until I am completely sure I can't go without.

Why don't you talk to her? She is just protecting you, even thought ur not a child any more, yet maybe she wants to treat you like that cause she doesn't want u to grow up cause she still wants you to stay six. You need to tell her what you feel no matter how she doesn't want to hear it.

You need to tell her what you feel no matter how she doesn't want to hear it. I agree. Have you tried that? Anyhow, I thought UK's crime rate is lower. (Should be better than my country) My parents were like that when I was in primary school. They still are, and warns me all the time when they read news about thefts, robbers and conmen.

possibly, but we have media coverage on practically every knife crime that happens, and stalkers on the internet. So my mum is convinced that if I even cross the road to macdonalds, I'll come back with a kitchen knife in my head.

How about learning martial arts to get her convinced? (Well, that won't work on my parents, but it might convince your mum.)
